As Care Association, we carry out humanitarian aid activities such as  food package aid, slaughtering adaq-aqiqa qurban and permanent works such as water wells, orphanages throughout the year in many countries of Africa. In addition to these aids, we are carrying out wajib qurban slaughtering during the Eid al-Adha and the distribution of iftar meals and food in Ramadan.

The First Health Camp Of 2021 In Garba Tula, Kenya!

After seeing the living conditions and standards of the people in the countries we have visited, we decided to work on the health field where we provided humanitarian aid. Therefore, Care Doctors held the first health camp of 2021 in the Garba Tula Region, approximately 550 km far from Nairobi, the capital of Kenya!

Health status of Kenya

 In Kenya, only a quarter of the population can benefit from fully equipped health services. Diseases such as diarrhea, hepatitis, typhoid, malaria, fever and rabies are among the most common diseases in the country. Especially due to the lack of food and hygiene conditions, malnutrition in children and infective diseases in adults especially such as cataract, hernia, hydrocele, and large thyroid nodules are observed.

What did we do at the Health Camp?

Cataract and General Surgery Operations

Kenyan patients who cannot benefit from health services because there are not enough doctors and health supplies, Care doctors were the instrument of healing the hundreds of patients thru the health camp in the Garba Tula region with a population of a three hundred thousand people in Isiola province of Kenya on January 18.

Although the having population of  more than 300 thousand in the Garba Tula region, where we organized a health camp in a hospital, accomodating 30 patients in the service rooms of this hospital with beds is considered a big hospital in this region. Although there was an operation room in the hospital, Care Doctors and Care Association performed the first surgery in the hospital, where there was no surgery operation before because of the lack of equipment and sufficient healthcare workers.

General surgery and eye surgeries and health screenings were performed in this area, where conditions were very difficult for people living in the area. Dozens of patients underwent surgery, while hundreds of cataract patients gained the clear vision after eye surgeries.

Food Parcels and Nutritious-Therapeutic Nutrition Packages

In this country where we organize a health camp as Care Doktorları, we have provided food packages to 210 families so that children and babies under 5 years old do not sleep hungry. We also provide food to support  the healthy nutrition and growth of babies in order not to be affected badly due to hard conditions they live in. Some of our volunteer teams traveled to the Kwale and Garissa regions of Kenya for distributing therapeutic nutritional packages to more than two hundred families for their malnourished children.

Orphanage and Madrasa Visits

As Care Association and Care Doctors, we visited two orphanages and a madrasah in Garba tula, where we carry out humanitarian aid and health services. One orphanage has 200 girls and the other has 160 boys. Aside from orphanage visits, we also visited a madrasa with 60 students. We slaughtered the aqiqa, adaq qurbans that were sent from Turkey for these orphanages and madrasa. Then, the meat of the slaughtered qurbans were distributed to the orphanages, madrasa and local people in need.

Water Well Openings and Check up for our Previous Water Wells

Care Association checked 80 water wells that we have drilled before in Kenya, where we have constantly dealed with humanitarian aid activities. We wanted to be sure whether the wells are in good condition. We have opened 8 recently completed water wells and shared their images with the donors. We also conducted a field study to identify villages in the region that are in urgent need of water.
